Domaine de Leos: Lavender Honey from Provence 250g

€14.00

"Domaine de Leos" offers a creamy, aromatic, and flavoursome lavender honey, with delicate, fruity aromas that promise a unique sensory experience.

This honey is harvested from the nectar of lavender flowers grown on the "Domaine de Leos" estate and surrounding region. It boasts a creamy texture and balanced flavour, both subtle and persistent. The lavender honey is generally harvested from late June to early August.

Character
Aromatic and flavoursome, this honey has a delicate, floral profile with a long finish. Thanks to its creaminess, it offers an additional (or ,sorry, did I mean addictive?) sensory experience, blending its melting softness with subtle lavender aromas.

Breed of Bees
The estate's bees are primarily Buckfasts and Caucasians. Buckfast bees are gentle, with low swarming rates and high productivity. They are resilient through winter and resistant to certain diseases. Caucasian bees, known for their long tongues, are hard-working and produce high-quality wax and honey.

Tasting Notes
Texture: Stirred to prevent crystallisation, maintaining a creamy and smooth consistency, making it easy to spread.
Colour: Clear and golden yellow when harvested, turning whiter through stirring and crystallisation.
Taste: Subtle, floral, and flavoursome, with a long finish.
Aroma: Intense and aromatic, with delicate, fruity notes.

Storage
Lavender honey can be stored for up to two years. To retain all its properties, it should be kept away from moisture, heat, and UV rays.

Our recommendation:

This creamy lavender honey can be enjoyed on toast, in preparations or as an accompaniment to desserts, imaginative dishes or hot drinks. If you think eating it from a jar is a good idea, make sure to find the smallest spoon you have to avoid my mistake #gonetoosoon #lavenderhoneyjunky

About the artisans:

My first encounter with Domaine de Leos was through their olive oil—and let me tell you, my pupils expanded, angels starting chanting "Ecstasy of Gold”. I thought I knew olive oil, but this was a revelation. Then I tried their Fine honey and Confitures, and I was completely blown away. These have become my absolute favorites.

Domaine de Leos is the result of years of dedication to quality and sustainability, turning a historic estate into a producer of exceptional olive oil, honey, and more—praised by top French chefs. Want to learn more about their story and other artisans? Head to our Artisans page!
