About the Artisans:
Chocolat Dardenne from the Pyrenees – a one of a kind chocolate invented by the scientist!
Founded in 1897 by Ludovic Dardenne, a pharmacist-turned-chocolatier and protégé of Nobel Prize-winning chemist Paul Sabatier, this family-run treasure in Lorp-Sentaraille, nestled in the Pyrenees, brings a scientific twist to indulgence.
Back in the day, chocolate often came with side effects—think headaches, digestive woes, even nausea! But thanks to the brainpower of Dardenne and Sabatier, they cracked the code to create chocolate that’s as gentle as it is delicious.
Still today, each batch is still crafted with Pyrenean purity and a touch of legacy, making it as “prescribed” as it is irresistible. Dardenne’s science-driven approach continues, now with award-winning gluten-free and vegan chocolates that keep the innovation (and flavour) alive and well!
